Chapter Ten of Entitled to Murder: A Cozy Mystery Short Story

The end of act one has arrived. And, I’m excited to share this next chapter of my cozy mystery short story with you. Partly because I’m excited about writing this story and the series, and the story changes after this point. But, more on that later. One of the exciting things about writing within the murder mystery and cozy mystery genres is the research. Although, I suspect I might be on some time of watch list, thanks to my internet search history after the various research sessions I conducted.  You’ll see what I mean when you get to the end of the chapter. Don’t worry, this story is still gore-free.

Chapter Eight of Entitled to Murder: A Cozy Mystery Short Story

I’m tearing myself away from writing my cozy mystery short story, Entitled to Murder to share chapter eight, straight off the presses. Well technically, there are no presses. But, you get it, I’ve just finished revising and editing the chapter, and I’m a little over-excited. In other news, I made a minor addition to the ebook’s cover art because I’ve decided to make Tiberius, the grey English Shorthair cat a regular character in the series.

Chapter Seven of Entitled to Murder: A Cozy Mystery Short Story

Here it is the seventh chapter of my cozy mystery short story titled, Entitled to Murder. Originally, this chapter contained two scenes, but I realised as I reached the end of the scene that you’re about to read, this needed to be it’s own chapter. At the moment, there are three chapters until I reach the end of act one. I am hoping to keep sharing chapters regularly on this blog. Hopefully, I won’t hit a writing snag that requires substantial research. Fingers crossed.

Chapter One of Entitled to Murder: A Cozy Mystery Short Story

I’m excited to share with you the first chapter of my very first cozy mystery short story titled, Entitled to Murder. Every Friday, over the next few weeks, I will release a chapter from the short story over on this blog, and on Wattpad. The story is set on a sheep farm in Derbyshire, England, on October 31st, 1989. Yes, it’s set in the ’80s and early ’90s. Say goodbye to mobile phones, ADSL, and the world wide web. But, it’s not all that bad, in 1989 we had Lotus Notes, Nintendo Game and Watch, and good old landlines. I have to admit the lack of mobile phones with cameras and high-speed internet connections adds a bit of drama and conflict to the world of amateur sleuthing.

ME

Hello!

Amelia D. Hay is a passionate bibliophile and can usually be found reading a book, and that book will most likely be a cozy mystery. Amelia’s love of reading stems back to when her mother used to bribe her as a small child, with a little golden book for good behaviour during grocery shopping. Fast-forward thirty years, Amelia is the author of the soon to be released novel Body at the Book Club, the first book in the murder mystery book club series. When she’s not writing or hosting her podcasts, Amelia loves to travel around Europe with her husband Roland, drink tea, and eat pizza.

I’m currently writing the first draft of a prequel short story titled, Entitled To Murder. The short story features Lucy Hobbs, who is the main character in the Murder Mystery Book Club series. Here’s a bit about the book:
Bookworm and recently widowed, Lucy Hobbs has lived a sheltered life. The only danger she has ever faced was turning the pages of a murder mystery novel. All of that is about to change. (Click to learn more)
